Probably an hour of labor, so that $828 quote is way out of bounds. I took it to our local honda service center and was told that the front spool valve was leaking oil. Would recommend replacing soon as it can eventually leak to alternator due to its location.
Replace Spool Valve Honda Odyssey Vtec Solenoid Spool Valve
Front spool valve starting to show seepage.
Of note, the mahle gaskets were not torn or damaged at 10k miles like the original gaskets were at.
Got it online from hondapartsconnection.com who were cheaper than hondapartsguys. In honda motors, spool valves regulate the oil pressure necessary for various engine functions. The valves adjust the passage of oil through different ports, enabling smooth gear shifts and maintaining torque. Labor time is 3 hours to replace the front spool assembly, which is $300 to $450 depending upon what a dealer charges per hour.
Well i bought the front spool valve assembly to replace original in 2014lx @70k. I just replaced the original spool valve and mahle gaskets with oe parts. The invoice listed the original. I took off the top portion of the new spool valve, that has the gasket, installed that back into the vehicle.

The part runs $ 145 so total $445 to $595
I was surprised at the final price tag of $874. However, on a honda accord, a dealership may charge around $250. Buy the honda spool valve, (do not buy off brand).
